On Wednesday, 30 April, Mimi Kakushi will honour International Jazz Day with a special edition of its beloved Minami Jazz Night—an evening where music and mixology blend in perfect harmony. Guests will be treated to a live jazz performance, with select tracks inspired by the bar’s signature Kikuchi cocktail menu, creating a multisensory celebration of sound and spirit.

Minami Jazz Nights are a midweek ritual at Mimi Kakushi, transporting guests to the vibrant nightlife of Osaka’s iconic Minami district, channeling the essence of vintage jazz lounges—where sultry saxophones played beneath a haze of candlelight. Central to this celebration is the Kikuchi cocktail menu—a concept born from the legacy of Kikuchi Shigeya, the visionary who brought American jazz to Japan and became known as the nation’s “father of jazz”. Each of the cocktails in the collection is paired with a corresponding vinyl track, reflecting its unique mood and character. Presented in the form of vinyl record sleeves housed in a handcrafted wooden box, the menu invites guests to sip, listen, and savour—blending music, culture, and craftsmanship in every pour.
