Review // El Sur Summer Restaurant Week Menu

El Sur, The Westin

Summer Restaurant Week which is part of Dubai Summer Surprises is back from 12th – 28th August and sees restaurants across the city offer specially curated summer menus at great prices. It’s the perfect way to escape the heat, try new restaurants and dishes, and without bankrupting yourself too.

We headed to one of our long-time favourite restaurants El Sur at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi to try their menu which brings you the essence of Spain on a plate. How lovely does that sound as we sweat it out in the Dubai summer? - as one of the few left here working away while others live their best life on Instagram!

First things first, The Westin has had a recent makeover and it looks truly stunning. The lobby alone is beautiful and we definitely can’t wait to go back and try one of their other newly renovated outlets.

On arrival at El Sur we are greeted with lovely live music and the restaurant is bustling with a mix of families and couples – there is an atmosphere and it doesn’t feel Dubai summer quiet which we like. We chose to sit in the bar area at the high tables as we were having a more relaxed girlie evening and this suited us best. True to form we decided to try out the Margs and they were flavoursome with a kick, so our evening started off very well.

For AED 150 you get a 3-course menu and a bottle of water for the table – all other drinks are extra. The menu has lots of fresh and flavourful ingredients ranging from hearty stews to tasty nibbles. There are also vegetarian options too – nothing vegan. We started off with the Tortilla de patatas and the Manchego cheese & cristal bread with fresh tomatoes and Arbequina olive oil – we shared them between us and if you love cheese as we do, they were both delicious. Moving on to mains, vegetarian me enjoyed the goats cheese salad and my friend had the pan-seared sea bass. Both were packed with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. To finish, there was no option other than The Churros con Chocolate, with another margarita, which was the perfect end, and honestly, they were our highlight – delicious!

We left nicely full, but not uncomfortably so and for AED 150 each, plus drinks, it was a great value and I’m definitely going to see what else this fabulous month has in store across the city.

El Sur, The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, Friday 12 August to Sunday 28 August 2022, 6:00pm - 10:30pm.
