#IWD - Embracing Feminine Energy as Strength: Making It Your Superpower to Thrive

In a world that often equates success with power, competition, and relentless hustle, embracing feminine energy might seem counterintuitive. But what if tapping into our intuition, empathy, and emotional intelligence was the key to thriving—not just surviving?

The Power of Feminine Energy in Leadership

We all carry both masculine and feminine energies within us. Masculine energy is often associated with focus, structure, and goal-oriented action. Feminine energy, on the other hand, embodies creativity, intuition, collaboration, and nurturing. While neither is superior, an imbalance can lead to exhaustion and disconnection.

Too often, women are told to "toughen up," "be more assertive," or "play the game" to succeed. This conditioning pushes many to suppress their natural strengths—deep listening, emotional intelligence, and relational leadership—qualities that research shows are essential for effective leadership.

Accelerating Action for Gender Equality

This year's International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 theme, "Accelerate Action," reminds us that change cannot wait. At the current rate of progress, full gender parity will not be reached until 2158—five generations from now. This stark reality demands that we take bold, immediate action to break systemic barriers and biases.

One way to Accelerate Action is by redefining leadership. Rather than conforming to outdated notions of power, we must champion a leadership style that embraces emotional intelligence, inclusivity, and intuitive decision-making.

Unlocking Your Feminine Superpower

So, how do we own our feminine energy while maintaining balance in a fast-paced world?

1. Emotional Intelligence (EQ): The Leadership Advantage

Studies show that women consistently score higher in emotional intelligence, a crucial skill for leadership, resilience, and decision-making.

EQ includes:

• Self-awareness – Recognizing your emotions and how they impact your decisions.

• Empathy – Understanding and valuing different perspectives.

• Relationship-building – Fostering trust and collaboration.

Example: Some of the most successful leaders—Jacinda Ardern, Oprah Winfrey, and Michelle Obama—lead with emotional intelligence, creating lasting impact through connection and trust.

2. Intuition: The Hidden Key to Success

Intuition is often dismissed as irrational, yet some of the best CEOs and entrepreneurs rely on gut instincts—especially when data alone doesn’t provide clear answers. Intuition is a form of intelligence, refined through experience and self-awareness.

Example: Many high-performing executives, including Indra Nooyi (former CEO of PepsiCo), have spoken about trusting their instincts when making critical business decisions.

3. Redefining Strength & Success

• Strength isn’t about domination; it’s about resilience and adaptability.

• Success isn’t about burnout; it’s about sustainable impact.

• Power isn’t about control; it’s about influence and inspiration.

By shifting our mindset and embracing the full spectrum of our strengths, we create a more inclusive and effective leadership model—one that benefits everyone.

Call to Action: How Will You Accelerate Change?

As we step into IWD 2025, we must ask ourselves: How can we accelerate action in our own lives and workplaces?

Here are a few ways to start:

  • Advocate for psychological safety in workplaces, where diverse voices are encouraged and valued.

  • Leverage storytelling as a leadership tool to inspire and connect.

  • Prioritize self-awareness through coaching and reflective practices.

  • Mentor and uplift other women, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.

Your feminine energy is not a weakness—it is your strength. The world needs leaders who can be both strong and soft, strategic and intuitive, powerful and empathetic.

Together, let’s rewrite the narrative and accelerate action for a more equitable future.
