For International Women’s Day 2025, & Other Stories is proud to collaborate with London-based multidisciplinary artist Karimah to create a limited-edition organic silk scarf, a wearable piece of art designed to celebrate resilience, creativity, and the power of women supporting women.
The collaboration began with a simple yet profound question posed by & Other Stories to Karimah: “What does International Women’s Day mean to you?” In response, she created a bespoke painting titled ‘Let Love Be Your Legacy’, a vibrant composition that reflects her multicultural heritage and explores themes of strength, vulnerability, and sisterhood. With & Other Stories, the painting has been transformed into a statement silk scarf, blending bold colours and meaningful motifs to create a piece that is both personal and powerful.
"This piece is a celebration of women's journeys,” says Karimah. “I drew inspiration from my heritage, my community and the women who shaped me. Like a talisman of strength, this scarf is something women can wear to celebrate their power and voices.”
Crafted from 100% organic silk, the scarf launches at & Other Stories on March 4, 2025. All profits will be donated to UN Women’s Second Chance Education Programme in India*, which provides women marginalized by poverty, crisis, or harmful social norms with pathways to education, vocational training, and new opportunities for a brighter future.
"At & Other Stories, International Women’s Day is more than a celebration — it’s an opportunity to amplify voices, champion self-expression, and support meaningful change," says Cecilia McNeil, Head of Sustainability. "Karimah’s work embodies all of these values, and we are honoured to collaborate with her as we contribute to UN Women’s long-term initiative — the Second Chance Education Programme in India — empowering women through education."
*In March 2024, & Other Stories announced a new long-term partnership with UN Women Sweden. By supporting UN Women’s Second Chance Education Programme (SCE) in India, & Other Stories underscores it’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women globally.
The Karimah & Other Stories scarf are available online and in all & Other Stories stores.
