JOB TITLE: Psychologist, Founder/CEO of Journey

As a psychologist and founder of Journey, Dr Nicole has dedicated her life to a simple yet powerful belief: everyone deserves the chance to discover their true potential through self-discovery.

For over a decade in private practice, Nicole has walked alongside individuals as they transform their lives, helping them navigate through burnout, anxiety, and those moments when success feels more like a burden than an achievement.

Nicole's work, whether through her start up Journey, TEDx Talk, podcasts and other speaking opportunities, always stem from one place: her deep commitment to helping people do the inner work and embrace their authentic selves. She connects especially with high achievers and entrepreneurs who, despite their success, seek something deeper: genuine fulfilment and reconnection with themselves.

Through Journey, Nicole has extended this mission to support fellow practitioners. Recognizing that therapists and coaches who guide others through transformation are among the world's most influential people, she created this members-only platform to empower them with the resources, community, and visibility they need to thrive professionally and personally.

Today Dr Nicole shares with us her 3 biggest life lessons:

1.      Life Is Not That Serious

This year brought me face to face with the deepest truths about life, death, and what lies beyond. Through my exploration of the afterlife experience, I discovered something profound that changed everything: our existence here is but a tiny fragment in the vastness of eternal consciousness. When you truly understand this – not just intellectually, but in your bones – you realize how much unnecessary weight we carry on our shoulders.

Think about it: when you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, all the daily stress, drama, and endless worrying start to look pretty small. Most of the things we lose sleep over won't even matter in a few months, let alone years. The truth is simple: we're here to experience life in all its forms, to grow, to learn, and yes – to enjoy ourselves along the way. Once you embrace this perspective, you'll find yourself naturally letting go of the heaviness that comes with taking everything so seriously. This isn't about being irresponsible – it's about understanding what truly matters and choosing to flow with life rather than constantly fighting against it.

2.     Living Life Strategically

One of the most transformative realizations you can have is understanding that your time and energy are your most valuable currencies. This isn't just about time management – it's about being intentional with your life. Every moment you spend, every bit of energy you invest, is a choice that shapes your reality.

When you begin to approach life as a conscious exercise in energy investment, everything shifts. You start to see clearly where your valuable resources are being spent. Are you pouring it into relationships that nourish your soul? Are you investing it in work that aligns with your purpose? Or are you letting it leak away into situations and people that drain your spirit? This isn't about being calculating – it's about being intentional. It's about honoring the sacredness of your life force enough to direct it purposefully.

3.    The Ultimate Truth: Connection Is Our Essence

At the core of all existence lies one fundamental truth: we are here to connect, to feel, to experience the full spectrum of what it means to be alive. In my work with clients, I witness this truth repeatedly – the deepest healing, the most profound transformations, all stem from opening the heart fully to life's experiences.

The fear of pain, the impulse to close off our hearts – these are natural human responses. But they're also the very things that keep us from experiencing the depth and richness of existence. Love, in all its forms, is the most powerful force in the universe. It's what gives meaning to our journey, what makes us feel truly alive. Whether it's the love between partners, the bond with family, the connection with friends, or the compassion we extend to strangers – each is a thread in the tapestry of human experience.

But here's the deepest wisdom I've discovered: the relationship you have with yourself is the foundation of all other connections. It's the foundation from which all other relationships grow. When you cultivate this inner connection with devotion and authenticity, you create a wellspring of love that naturally overflows to others.

Remember: your journey here is precious, your energy is sacred, and your capacity to love is infinite, so be generous with it.
