NEWS: Adidas and Kaf by Kaf Just Launched "LIGHTBOUND" Globally



Adidas, in collaboration with Saudi fashion label Kaf by Kaf— part of Saudi 100 Brands Program – proudly announces the launch of the SS25 Sportswear collection, Lightbound.


A collection that highlights the spirit of Saudi creators as they explore notions of self-identity, authenticity, and creativity under the soft glow of the moon—a metaphor for the light that guides personal and creative awakening.


Initially showcased leading up to Riyadh Fashion Week in October 2024, Lightbound made its debut at adidas' first regional runway show, held in the iconic Financial Plaza by KAFD. The exclusive event featured a curated preview of the collection, celebrating the intersection of sports, culture, and fashion within the region.


Lightbound offers a diverse range of unisex pieces inspired by iconic Saudi garments, such as abayas and headscarves. Incorporating modern functionality, the collection balances traditional silhouettes with sportswear innovation:


  • Classic Track Top & Pants: Featuring vibrant all-over prints, ribbed details, and practical cargo and zippered pockets.

  • Elongated Cover-Up Abaya: Combines vibrant prints, solid panels, and adidas' signature 3-Stripes branding for a modern take on modesty.

  • Lightweight Headscarf: Crafted with airy materials for comfort and style.

  • Long Sporty Dress: Showcases a flat knit V-neck, racerback design, and side seam pockets.


The collection draws on “The Lines That Connect Us,” symbolizing collective empowerment under the moonlight. Diagonal white lines evoke beams of light, while interlocking patterns represent unity. Key colorways include hues inspired by dusk and dawn – elements that Kawthar Alhoraish is well-known for incorporating into her work.


Accompanying the launch of the collection is a carefully curated campaign featuring top-rated Kuwaiti-born Lebanese actress, Laila Abdullah, Bahraini blogger, Abbas Alasfoor, and Dubai-based creatives Shahd Batal and Abdulrahman Abu Ebeid. Set against evocative backdrops—textured stone walls, narrow alleys, and shifting moonlight—the campaign mirrors the collection’s interplay between tradition and modernity.


Designed by Kawthar Alhoraish, founder of Kaf by Kaf, the collection reflects a generation’s fusion of tradition and forward-thinking design. “Lightbound celebrates the bold spirit of Saudi youth and their creative energy,” said Kawthar. “This collaboration with adidas embodies our shared vision to push boundaries and reimagine sportswear.”
