MOVED TO THE UAE IN: Born in UAE

Born in the UAE and raised between the vibrant cultures of Mumbai & Dubai, Kashish earned her MBA before following her true passion. After getting married, she decided to follow her heart and earned an Interior Design Degree, transforming her love for design into a successful career that seamlessly blends business acumen with artistic vision. Today, Kashish proudly leads The House of Kalaa, where they create unparalleled luxury interiors and she is excited to now introduce Design On Wheels, a revolutionary design experience that brings bespoke design right to your doorstep!

After spending over a decade as an interior designer in Dubai, Kashish noticed the challenges clients face in today’s fast-paced lifestyle, particularly the difficulty of visiting multiple showrooms and coordinating design decisions. At the heart of her work is the belief that luxury should be both beautiful and practical. To make this vision a reality, Kashish launched Design On Wheels, the UAE’s first mobile interior showroom. This innovative service eliminates the need for clients to visit multiple showrooms by bringing personalized design solutions directly to their door, offering a seamless and convenient experience.

Let's discover a day in Kashish's world:

7AM:

Start the day by sending my son off to school. It’s a moment I cherish as we exchange a few words before he heads out. Once he's off, I take some time for myself, enjoying a cup of coffee. This quiet time is perfect for gathering my thoughts, catching up on personal emails or simply reflecting on the day ahead.

8 AM:

The next few hours are dedicated to organizing the house and planning the meals for the day. I tidy up different areas, ensuring the house feels calm and orderly. At the same time, I plan the meals and prep ingredients, so everything is ready for when the family returns home later in the day. I like to make sure that both my home and the meals are prepared in a way that supports a smooth, stress-free day.

9AM:

My professional day begins with client meetings or site visits. I meet with clients to understand their vision and expectations, ensuring I’m aligned with their needs. I also make site visits to check on ongoing projects, assess progress, and solve any issues that may arise. These interactions are crucial for keeping projects on track and maintaining strong relationships with my clients.

12.30 PM:

I take a short break for lunch, which also includes a phone call to my son in Sydney. Our conversation is a highlight of my day, giving me a chance to catch up and maintain that important connection despite the distance. It’s a time of emotional recharge and ensures I stay grounded throughout the day.

2PM:

The afternoon is spent in the office, where I engage in meetings, designing, and planning. This is when I focus deeply on my work, whether it’s discussing project updates with my team, brainstorming new ideas, or refining design concepts. It’s a productive period, and I make sure to dedicate this time to creating and refining the vision for my clients. This is when I dive deep into my creative process, discussing upcoming projects with my team, or refining designs. It’s a focused, productive period of the day.

3PM:

Client meetings continue at this time. During these, I present new designs, review feedback and discuss next steps. These meetings are essential for maintaining a clear communication line with clients, ensuring I understand their evolving needs, and adjusting designs accordingly.

5 PM :

I wrap up my workday and head home. After a full workday, I return home. The drive back allows me to mentally transition from work to family time. It’s also a chance to reflect on the day and prepare for the evening ahead.

5.30PM:

Time for a bit of self-care. Whether it’s hitting the gym, going for a walk or playing a game of padel, I make sure to get some exercise to help clear my mind and keep my energy levels up. This physical activity is crucial for maintaining balance in my busy life.

8PM:

Dinner is a cherished family time. This is when we come together and enjoy a meal, share stories about our day and strengthen our family bonds. It’s a time to unwind and connect with each other before the day ends.

10PM:

To wrap up the day, I take time to unwind. I might read a book, meditate, or watch a favorite show This is my time to relax and let go of the day’s stresses. Then, I get ready for bed to ensure I’m rested and ready to take on tomorrow with energy and focus.
