Yinli, a tea for women’s wellness inspired by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) launches in Dubai.
Founded by Karen Heng and Virna Artemas, Yinli is a journey into the heart of TCM tailored to meet today’s customer palette.
The brand was founded not only from shared experiences of drinking bitter, mystery TCM concoctions as children whenever they fell ill, but also an observation of an absence of TCM in postnatal care in Dubai. In Singapore and Hong Kong, where the founders lived before moving to Dubai, TCM features heavily in postnatal care, often drank by the new mother every day for 28 days. TCM ingredients and practices are also very important for a new mother in the first month after birth.
Heng and Artemas set out to create a brand that would be strongly rooted in the traditional wisdom of TCM, but also one that is adapted to today’s modern taste.
Yinli's core offerings center around a curated line of teas that are designed to meet women at different stages of their journey.
There is the Aurora, that restores energy for new moms and supports recovery after birth. Although it is crafted with the postpartum stage in mind, the Aurora is a light and flavourful tea, perfect for drinking during the day. It contains dried ginger, dried figs, jujube dates, longan seeds, dried longans, tangerine peel (used in TCM to aid digestion and moves qi), taxillus herb (used in TCM to nourish the liver and kidneys, and strengthening of bones and muscles) and goji berries.
Then there is the Maia, to support the woman’s reproductive health to prepare for motherhood. It contains goji berries, red raspberry leaves (recognised in TCM for its ability to tone the uterus), Chinese dodder seeds, sha yuan zi, black beans, and dried longans (used in TCM to nourish the blood).
Finally, there is the Floral, formulated to nurture the woman’s gut health and enhance her overall digestive system. It contains hawthorn berries (widely used in TCM to aid digestion), tangerine peel, codonopsis root (used in TCM to boost the health of the spleen and the stomach), dried ginger, licorice root, jujube dates, and atractylodes rhizome (used in TCM to strengthen the spleen and stomach). The Floral is a heavier, more robust tea, and is ideal for drinking in the evening.
Yinli’s mission is for women to feel connected, empowered, and in harmony with their bodies by embracing the essence of transformation and inner strength that TCM offers. Try the 100% natural, caffeine-free tea today and harness the power of its ancient healing herbs.
